What is tissue in the body? The body tissue is an aggregation of cells that function together and have a similar function. The cells of a multicellular organism do not usually function independently instead they are usually associated with other cells forming a tissue. Mostly, tissues are made up of several types of cells that cover different requirements of the tissue function. The study of tissues is called histology. This science studies the anatomy of different tissues using microscopes. The microscopic biological science histology helped in the classification of tissues of both plant and animal tissue as well as identifying their detailed structure.

Types of Animal Tissues


What are tissues? The definition of tissue in animals is a group of cells combined together to perform a certain function. There are four tissue types in animals, each type of tissue has its distinct structure and function. They are (1) epithelial tissues, (2) connective tissues, (3) muscular tissues, and (4) nervous tissues. Each of these tissues has its own unique structure and biological function. These different types of tissues are discussed below:

Progress has been made towards achieving SDG4, and there are new knowledge horizons and opportunities for strengthened solidarity and partnerships around the provision of quality education and lifelong learning for all. Yet the context is also changing with new technologies and skill demands, as well as economic shocks and environmental degradation. Many barriers to education access and educational outcomes remain in place and challenges to the monitoring of progress remain. Since education is not only an integral part of, but also a key enabler for sustainable development, it needs to be included in national development plans and strategies for achieving all the SDGs.

Teaching and learning methods adopted to achieve the quality of education The academic staff adopts various teaching learning methods based on both the course needs and learning styles of the students such as visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic learners. For instance, the clinical cases presented by the students in the structured format (SOAP Notes) enhance the critical thinking, scientific reasoning, communication skills, self-directed learning, and problem-solving skills. Mind mapping is the style that improves the critical thinking, reasoning, team, and group working. The project work impacts critical thinking, scientific reasoning, digital literacy, communication skills, problem solving skills, team and group working and self-directed learning. The simulation experiments help students to experience kinesthetic learning. Similarly, the other techniques used for teaching-learning process such as Flashcards, Video reflection, Think-Pair- Share and teacher-assisted digital learning platforms (Kahoot! & Clickers) use definite learning styles. The modular teaching or block teaching is introduced at formative level that enhances flexibility in teaching-learning and provides opportunities to incorporate various student centric learning activities. Also, inter professional education is adopted as learning together with other healthcare professional students, improve professional relationships, attitude for teamwork.

FUTURE ITERATIONS


Tissue engineering is fast becoming a market with huge potential, addressing specific medical needs such as organ failure or major tissue damage. It enables tissue regeneration where evolution prohibits natural regeneration. In short, tissue engineering allows the body to heal itself.


Regeneration means the re-growth of part of the affected or lost organs of the remaining tissue. Animals can regenerate some organs, such as the liver. If a part of the liver is lost due to illness or injury, the liver grows back to its original size, but not in its original form.
Three general components are involved in tissue engineering: (1) reparative cells that can form a functional matrix; (2) an appropriate scaffold for transplantation and support; and (3) bio reactive molecules, such as cytokines and growth factors that will support and choreograph formation of the desired tissue.
